Critical Media Analysis: A Court of Mist And Fury

During my freshman fall semester (Fall 2022) at the University of Oklahoma, I completed an individual critical media analysis project for an academic audience of my professor and peers. I chose to analyze A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas, allowing me to explore a topic I was personally interested in.

The objective of the assignment was to inform and persuade by developing a strong, research-supported argument about the book’s themes and cultural relevance. I conducted research using sources from Google Scholar and the University of Oklahoma Libraries, and used Google Docs to write and format my paper.

Through this project, I strengthened my skills in research, evaluating credible sources, and constructing a cohesive argument. I learned how to effectively support my claims with evidence and ensure that all points contributed to a clear overall thesis. This experience helped me become more confident in my ability to critically analyze media and communicate my ideas effectively.
